Alicia D. Rogers
is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cityhappenings.com,
the nation's top Internet, events, design and advertising
resource. With former business partner Troy L. Davis,
Rogers co-founded Cityhappenings.com, LLC CityhappeningsUSA.com,
LLC. and DT Media and Design, LLC in 1999, and is owner
of ADR Inc., a management, marketing and business design
consulting firm she founded in 1989.
Since February 2001,
Alicia has led the Business Professional Women's Network,
Inc., or BPWN Inc., a professional
business-women's network of Cityhappenings.com, LLC members,
which she also formed. Rogers was selected by ACE Magazine
as one of four "phenomenal women" of the Triangle
in 2003. In January 2003, the Business and Professional
Men's Alliance, Inc., or BPMA Inc.,
of Cityhappenings.com was launched.
ADR Inc., in May 2003
launched two new businesses which Rogers owns and manages
called City Kidz, a mobile transport and day care service
and a Match Making Service in which she is a relationship
consultant.
In September 2004, Alicia
D. Rogers decided to step back from some of her duties
with Cityhappenings.com in order to spend more time developing
ADR Inc. In taking ADR Inc. to a whole new level Ms.
Rogers is now a Business and Professional Coach; providing ADR
Inc. with new services such as: Creative Marketing,
Advertising and Promotions, Perpetual Care, Personal
Training (heath and fitness) along with Match Making
Services for your personal relationships.
Cityhappenings.com is
the "2003 Small Business of the Year Award" recipient
in recognition and presented by the Raleigh-Apex Branch
of the NAACP.
Under her leadership, Cityhappenings.com, LLC. became the largest events website
in the USA; DT Media and
Design, LLC. developed a reputation as Cityhappenings.com,
LLC.'s state-of-the-art web division, and ADR Inc., evolved as the principal
consulting and management solution for both Cityhappenings.com, LLC. and DT
Media and Design, LLC.
With the assistance and
creativity of Ms. Rogers, Cityhappenings.com and DT Media
and Design are responsible for such websites as: CIAA2001.com
and CIAA2002.com, the first ever basketball tournament
websites for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association
(CIAA), which is an athletic conference consisting of
12 historically African-American institutions of higher
education.
Rogers has 18 years of
management experience in sales, marketing, finance and
customer service. Before launching her three-tiered business
enterprise, Rogers was a senior-level executive with
BellSouth Corporation. She'd also been a vice president
and general manager for Apparel Warehouse Inc.
Rogers holds advanced
degrees in business management and senior accounting. She
is very active in her community. Cityhappenings.com, LLC is an
Advisory Board Member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
Rogers is an active
task-force member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce
Cultural and Business Exchange Network called Channels.
Additionally, she is co-chair of the Martin Luther King
Center's Outreach, Marketing and Public Relations
Committee for 2002-2003, and was executive producer for the Center's first MLK
Evening Gala and Black Tie Celebration held in 2003.
Rogers is also a certified
personal trainer and fitness leader instructor. A former
member of New Providence Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina,
NC. Faith being a part of her personality, Rogers founded
SSP2000 -- Saved, Steadfast and Praying in the Year 2000
- a women's organization. She's also the year 2000 recipient
of the Young Careerist Award from the National Federation
of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc.
Another business venture
has made Rogers a first in the sports world. She is the
founder of two basketball teams in the Raleigh area-the
Capital City Ballers, North Carolina's first semi-professional
team owned by a black woman and the City Jammers, a development
and subset basketball team. April 2004, WTVD ABC 11 recognized
Rogers with a Jefferson Award certificate for her hard
work and commitment to improving the quality of life
in our community. WRAL (CBS) saluted Ms. Rogers in February
2004, in honor of Black History Month, "Living The Legacy".
The 6am live interview was on TV5's morning show with
anchors Linda Loveland and Bill Leslie.

Sigma Fraternity, Inc. named Alicia D. Rogers as
the recipient of their Bigger and Better Business Award
for 2004. Urban People USA / Black Pages Today- nominated Ms.
Rogers as "Woman of the Year" for 2004
Early 2005, Ms. Rogers
auditioned and placed in the top 100 out of 1,200 applicants
for the Apprentice TV Show with Donald Trump. However,
Rogers felt she was better suited for the "new" Martha
Stewart Apprentice TV Show and pursued it. However, the
show was later cancelled.
A native of North Carolina,
Rogers was born and raised in Chatham County. Upon graduating
from college in 1988, Alicia joined Central Carolina
Bank and Trust Co., and soon became the first African
American female selected to lead a management team. In
1993 Rogers left CCB to move to Fuquay-Varina, along
with her two cocker spaniels:
Beau and Colby. In 2005, a
Maltese name Powder a.k.a "Petey" was added to the family.
Ms. Rogers hobbies are
gardening, discount shopping, coupon clipping, cooking,
traveling, spending time with her Mother, friends, the
dogs, playing golf when time permits
... and more shopping. To say the least, she keeps
herself busy and entertained.
Rogers is often called
to keynote for civic groups and other organizations as
time affords. There is no stopping the creative, savvy
businesswoman, Alicia D. Rogers.
